Chip and Joanna Gaines Are Talking About Having Another Baby: ‘He Is Telling Everyone I’m Pregnant’
Chip and Joanna Gaines are talking about expanding their family.
During a Nov. 5 appearance on Kylie Kelce’s podcast, “Not Gonna Lie,” Joanna revealed that her husband of 23 years has come down with a case of baby fever.
“When I had Crew at 40, I said, ‘Chip, I want him to have more siblings,” the HGTV star said. “I really thought I’d have nine children. I’m that lady. Look at my hair. Don’t I look like a lady that would have nine kids? And he was not open to it. Guess who’s open to it now? At 48?”
“He is telling everyone I’m pregnant. And just for the record, I’m not,” she continued.
“He told our grown kids, ‘Mom is pregnant.’ My daughter said, ‘I’m not coming home if this is true,’” Joanna, 48, explained, adding that Chip, 51, is “like, trying to speak it out into the universe,”

According to the mom of five, at a recent public speaking appearance the couple had “in front of 2,000” people, Chip told the crowd, “If anyone has any connection to TMZ, will you tell them that my wife is [pregnant]?”
“So that whole audience thinks I’m pregnant. I don’t know what’s happening,” said the “Fixer Upper” personality. “But I’m not.”
Joanna went on to try to convince Kylie to expand her family, too, adding that she’d “have more babies” if she “could.”
She told the podcast host that “five is a good number… five is so special,” and even offered to design a nursery for a potential addition to the Kelce family.
“I’m just saying, Kylie, bust it out. Five,” she urged. “It’s going to be your little boy, and it’s going to rock your world because it’s totally different than girls. And it’s another spot in your heart. And if it’s a girl, great because five girls is a party house.”

Joanna reflected on her own motherhood experience, adding that she and Chip “weren’t planning anything” when they had their first four children—Drake, 21, Ella, 20, Duke, 18, and Emmy, who will soon be 17.
The couple welcomed their fifth child, 8-year-old Crew, in June 2018.
“At one point, I had three in diapers still,” she said. “I just feel like it was so chaotic and fun and I loved it.”
Joanna told Kylie that she’s particularly enjoying the stage of life she’s in, as her eldest children navigate early adulthood.
“They’re like friends to me,” she said.
In September, during an appearance on “Joy 101 with Hoda Kotb,” Joanna opened up about the “mom guilt” she’s experienced while balancing her professional life as she raises five children.

She explained that although she was a “stay-at-home mom” for a time, she feared she had missed out on key moments with her children as her business ramped up.
The feelings came to a head as she recently drove her daughter, Ella, to the airport to go to college.
“I remember crying a little bit and thinking, ‘OK, this is the moment I can just say I’m sorry for anywhere I wasn’t present,’” she recalled. “For months, what I was grieving was, ‘I wasn’t home the whole time.’”
Joanna apologized to her daughter for her time spent away from the home, and was shocked when Ella “kind of got mad” in response.
“She got upset and said, ‘Mom, are you serious? All you’ve taught me is I can do everything and anything,’” Joanna revealed.
Regardless of whether the Gainses decide to expand their family, the Waco, TX, couple certainly has their hands full.
Chip and Joanna are set to tackle their most involved renovation yet in the brand-new series, “Fixer Upper: Chip Bought a Mansion.”
The six-episode series will follow the couple’s journey as they embark on a three-month project to transform a 15,000-square-foot estate Chip bought in their hometown three years ago.
In a classic twist of reality TV luck, the Gaineses soon discover that the property needs much more work than they had originally anticipated.
“Chip has always been a dreamer and risk taker, but even for him, buying a mansion was a bold move,” Joanna remarked in a statement shared with Realtor.com®.
The series premieres in December.
